We use a lot of lingo that is specific to our Student Ministry when talking about events. Below is our attempt at trying to clarify some of the things you might have heard your student talk about.

ZEAL: ZEAL is our weekly program that is geared towards teaching students how to read and understand the Bible for themselves. ZEAL groups are divided by age and gender and meet each Sunday night from 5:30-6:30.

SSN: Summer Sunday Nights, or SSN, are weekly events that happen on Sunday nights throughout the Summer months. These events are designed to be fellowship time for students and leaders and are different each week. Go check out our Calendar to see what is coming up.

SNAC: SNAC’s were developed back when Central had a Sunday night worship service and stood for “Sunday Nights After Church.” Well, we do not have a churchwide Sunday night worship service anymore, but the name stuck. SNAC’s happen randomly throughout the year on a Sunday night and are intended to pull together students and leaders to better connect with one another.

DiscipleNOW: DiscipleNOW is more commonly referred to as DNOW, and is a weekend retreat that happens early in the Spring semester. Students will be put into groups and stay in host homes throughout B/CS. They will come together at different times during the weekend for worship and fellowship.

Wednesday Night Live: WNL is a weekly worship gathering for students in 6th-8th grade. We meet on Wednesday nights from 6:06-7:06 and have live music, relevant teaching, small group discussion, engaging videos, and more. WNL meets in room A209.

Checkpoint: Checkpoint is a weekly worship gathering for High School students. We meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:45 and have engaging worship, great games, relevant teaching, and a time of prayer. Checkpoint meets in room A200.

Wired: Wired is a Summer camp that we developed a few years back. Our goal is to partner with other churches to lead students into a growing relationship with the Lord. Each year, camp is a little bit different so watch out for the latest details on our event page.

Mission Trips: One of the values of our Student Ministry is to engage students with challenging spiritual experiences and our Mission Trips do just that. We have 3 Mission Trips that we take students on each year: a Spring Break trip to Mexico, a Summer High School trip to Charlottesville, VA, and a Summer Middle School trip to Little Rock, AR. You can get more info about our trips on our event page as it comes available.
